Ask My GP – Automated Response

For those of you who are not aware, sometimes the practice may set a request to wait. This may be because we have booked an appointment for you, and are therefore waiting to hear if this is not convenient and you need us to rebook, or because our response may mean you need to respond back before your request has been closed off.

If a request has been set to wait and no response has been received, you would then receive an automated response to advise that as you have failed to respond your request is now closed. We appreciate this is a very curt response and could cause offence and as a result have fed this back to the developers of AskMyGP in February 2023 and again in April 2023. The developers have agreed for the automated response to be amended and this is due to be updated at their next system release nationally (we are not been given a directive of when this will take place). So until then, please be mindful of this response, and we apologise if this causes any upset, however we do not have any control over the standard response.
